When maybe should I look to replace my fuel pump? Car has 22,500 on it. I was just going to get a complete stock unit. But I do have S/C on the car. Never have had an issue.

It is not typically the sort of "consumable" item that is changed like oil.

Only if it gets noisy or shows other signs of failing, then you might want to replace it.

Not a lot of miles. Save the $ and take the wife out to dinner. :twocents:

Catalog it and check the fuel pump duty cycle. See if the pump is maxed out before you come for a retune.

Mine just broke on the way home from Vegas around 104,000 on a stock pump if this is any gauge of when they fail.

I replace mine every 2 or 3 years. 10 minutes and a few bucks is cheap insurance.

Might want to install a larger filter. Use a Motorcraft – FG800A. Remove the old filter, install the new larger one, bend the existing bracket to fit and use a large worm clamp to secure the new filter to the bracket. If you need new fuel filter clips, get NAPA - FILNCK11, 10 clips.

Lack of use will kill 'em quicker than using them daily........mine lasted 173 K miles when the motor blew thanks to bad gas!!:argue:

Put a new one in with the rebuilt motor but the old one still works fine!!

They can fail right out of the box......do what you feel comfortable with!!;)
