A Form-A-Funnel is the best thing you could buy if you change your own oil. They make different sizes, but 4.75" x 9.5" is the perfect size to prevent oil from getting all over the steering rack.

I went the other direction and moved my filter to the vacant area behind the driver fog light. I used a TransDapt relocation kit. Never a mess AND a larger filter. It adds about a quart capacity.

Can't. That's where my air suspension pump is hanging upside down now. [emoji4]

I do have a relocation kit minus the hoses sitting on the shelf with God knows what else for future boredom.

For now the dealer optioned spill guard works perfect.

I relocated my filter to the frame rail in front of the left front wheel but mine was vertical......still a pain and a bit messy but the main reason I went back to the OEM location was loss of oil pressure!!:argue::(

When I went back to the OEM position I picked up 10 PSI at idle (25 PSI)...more at speed!!

Not sure it makes any difference but it seems more oil pressure is better to a point!!

I can put up with a little mess a couple times a year!!:D

5W1Z-6N634-AA is the Ford part # for the oil deflector that fits on our Marauders. They started making it in '05 because Panther owners had complained since the platform change in '03 about the mess when changing their oil. It has 2 molded in clips that clip right onto the P/S pressure line just below the oil filter. Just spin the filter loose and let the oil drain from the filter and into your catch pan instead of the frame and rack.

I must be doing something wrong. Where you have that funnel thingy is where I reach up and remove the filter. I don't think it would fit out that way. Where are you taking your filter, from above.

As I read about the relocation, down this thread, I wondered if there would be any loss off oil movement/pressure. Thanks.

I bought two of those for my 2004 fleet. It took some fiddling to figure out how it went in, it does catch all the oil but you still have to fish the hot filter out without tipping it over :banana2:

Local Ford parts dept says this part is obsolete and no one carries it and no replacement...

Most useful thread on MM.net this year.

Ordered mine on Amazon and used my newly-acquired Prime; should have it here Tuesday.

we installed the p71 oil cooler and adapter
http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/161795253618?ul_noapp=true&chn=ps&lpid=82
no loss of pressure, need a smaller filter, and still messy to change but a pleasure
to know things are cooler while under stress.

You can also use a piece of cardboard, cut to the right size and bent in the middle. Just make a new one every time you have to change the oil.
