Up for sale is a new OEM Front (driver or passenger) door lock actuator. This is made by the Original Equipment Manufacturer: StoneRidge. This is new and is ONLY for the 2003 year model. I bought this thinking I could use it in my 04. This replaces part number: F8AZ-54218A
also compatible with the following models/years:
Ford Crown Victoria: 98-03
Mercury Grand Marquis: 98-03
Made in the U.S.A. - not cheap aftermarket junk!

What's the difference in the '04's??:confused:
I bought a used one a couple years ago and I'll bet it's for an '03......enlighten me please!!:(

I would check your fuses first. Also open your driver door and make sure the rivet is in place. If not, it's probably sheared off and the door lock actuator is not mounted so it will not work. Do you hear any noise at your driver door when locking/unlocking? If the rivet is still in place, it's likely the door lock actuator crapped out. From all of the panthers i've owned - i've never had a problem so it was a curveball this time around. it's actually pretty common after doing some searching. Check out the circle in red in the picture below for rivet location. The rivet was removed from the car in the pic, but it should be pretty obvious.

the connector for the harness is different (see the pic above, green circle). I then thought I could shave down the extra plastic, but the pins are slightly different also! I am surprised this was not compatible as typically 98-02 and 03-04 are where the separations are. I thought after the "major" changes in 03 it would have worked. I will try and grab photos later of the connectors. I really wanted to go for OEM
so i took the risk trying to put this into an 04.:bigcry:
