A aftermarket radio was thrown my way last week and I have no idea how to install this.
I would imagine I could buy the proper hook ups to plug it into at Pepboys or maybe an audio store. Correct?
My bigger concern is getting the radio to sit properly. Is there a special place to mount it for a clean look? Its a JVC or Sony. Bottom line is, it's smaller than the factory one and I am concerned about fitting it in properly.
Any and all advice appreciated.
Thank you.
BTW I have taken out my factory radio a number of times. I have the horse shoe clips.

This would be my thinking as well. The width of the radio fits right? You just need to fill in the bottom gap? Anthony84 has a similar set up in his Marauder
Can't stop the signal...

Dom, you can go to a number of places online to get a vehicle specific wiring harness that directly plugs into the head unit plug usually Scosche. You do have the wires for the head unit correct? The biggest issue with the Marauder is the head unit area is very shallow. Also, pick up a universal head unit mounting kit from Scosche and it will allow you to correctly mount the head unit, you will just have to figure out where screw in the mounting brackets. If you have any other questions you can IM me if needed. Good luck.

TO ANYONE hooking up aftermarket audio in most Fords; the illumination lead (blue/red) will only show 12 volts if the sunload sensor is covered and the amp turn-on lead must have a resistor because it requires a soft turn-on at 5 volts. Otherwise you'll get a loud pop when it turns on.

Did the radio include a wire harness that plugs into the back of it?

Is the radio a single or double DIN? Hint: the stock unit is a double DIN (or close to it).
Who made the headunit?
Here are the kits needed for the install:
Metra dash kit: 95-5817
Scosche power, speaker connector: FD23B
If you want to keep the steering wheel controls you'll need to get an interface kit.
Here is a list of interfaces from Pac-Audio

PM me if you have any questions on the install.
Dom I have all the stuff you need.
