hey all I wanted to say hello and share my story about how I became a marauder owner.. I have always been a gm guy and always will be at heart but in 2006 in need of a daily driver I stumbled across a 1992 crown vic. for $400 this car proved to be indestructible and got me through five years of day to day and I realized these are some of the best built cars out there as I beat this car every day and besides rebuilding the trans, just could not break it no matter how hard I tried.. it fell victim to chassis rot so I found a 1995 that was hit in the nose and transferred the parts over and painted the whole car. I have been driving it since 2011 and it really is the best car I have ever owned without question! so obviously when I heard about the marauder I was like this car would be awesome since it packs 100 extra horses and looks badass but figured I would probably never own one. turns out one of my fellow drivers at ups who has had one has had it off the road for about two years, so I asked him why he parked it. he said it lost fourth gear, and he just said **** it and left it in his yard he did not care to fix it as it was his daily driver for ten years and he had his fun with it . the roof and hood were also chipping and roof rusting in chips. I told him if he really didn't want it let's talk. it hadn't even been started in at least a year and not driven in over two, so when I went over to look at it it looked pretty sad sitting under a tree with stuff all over it. I brought a battery, checked the oil and fluids and belt, pulled the fuel pump fuse and cranked it till the oil pressure came up.. replaced the fuse and she lit right up and settled into an 800 rpm idle like she never slept, without a tick, tap or more than a small puff of smoke at startup. took it to the car wash on the way home and parked it as he said that since his friend changed the t stat it ran hot. after reading some posts regarding this, I properly bled the system and had a trans guy look at it and replace a servo, a clip and filled with motorcraft fluid and boom it was ready to really clean it up! I washed it again, clay barred the car and buffed it quick and used this kit from turtle wax called black box and it came out really nice considering how sad it looked. my friend bought it new from tasca ford and had the following mods done.. rear cat delete with magnaflow mufflers, sounds amazing! jlt intake setup with an accufab throttle body, steeda pulleys, precision industries stallion converter custom made for the setup along with 4.30 gears and a tune and x-cal2 tuner as well. even the window sticker. at first without the o.d. working I thought the gears would be way too steep but now that it's running the way it should I would not change them as it will still blast to a buck-twenty no sweat but I would think twice about staying there too long! im slowly improving it as I go but this car is by far such a blast to drive and tears $h*t up when you push that right pedal down boy.. sideways out of the hole with no brake nice and easy, she screams! my friend is glad he sold it to me as he wanted someone to resurrect it and he still gets to see it.. I told him if he ever wants to take it out just say the word. like I said my daily is a super clean 95 crown vic and I also have a 1976 and 1978 olds 98 regency and a 1976 golden anniversary grand prix which is one of 4807 made with t tops and a 455. hope you guys like the story.. david in rhode island

welcome, Dave - great story!
Sounds like you landed a well modded one owner ride!
what are the miles, and did he give you a nice, friend price?
Please, next post, seperate your sentences. It was very hard to read - but worth it.
Congrats!
PS - the 76 455 GP - will you be keeping that? (see my screen name ;) )

Welcome to the site. Hope you can steal some time in June for the All Fords Weekend. The Marauder Mountain can always use more cars. The group gets together for meals and chatter before and after the show field. On the field, we drink Sangria, eat food, and tell almost funny jokes.
Hope to see you in June!

chief thanks man, and yes I will separate sentences next time as I had trouble reading my own post back ha ha. I assume you saw the odo during the video and if not it had 160,000 when I bought it,and I just added 1000 miles since july 11th. you would never believe the friend price if I told ya! and I love ponchos, I have owned this gp for a little over five years and have had a thing for gp's since I bought my first 77 in 1990. I have had a 79 t top, an 83 brougham t top, two 77 hard tops, two 77 t tops and this 76 anniversary model. and countless other autos almost too many to count, never anything too expensive, usually at the right place at the right time I guess.

me too on the countless cars owned thing - think we all have this issue ;)
the 76 car would be worth posting pics...

chief I'm dying over here man haha! it seems like I clean it more than I drive it, it was taken out twice this year! I wish it had sack the way the merc does but it is totally stock so it's not slow, but not really fast either. some gears , cam, intake, aluminum heads and duals would really wake her up though. it is a really clean car with some original paint left, but it needs to come apart to really be mint. my olds has a 455 too but it's a ghetto sled made to cruise.. I have toyed with the idea of selling the gp a few times but I have not been able to so far.whenever I do drive it it's like love all over again lol
