So I was visiting a friend out of state and decided while I'm there to leave my Marauder in the shop for a few hours to get my mufflers replaced. It looks like they cut a bit too much of the pipe and my tips are about 1" too far in. Great job on the mufflers but the tips look like crap not extending far enough.

So I was going to extend the tips anyway 1.5", now it looks like they need to be extended about 2.5 - 3" to look good. Is this a simple job? Anyone recommend clamps or weld? Do NE state inspections care if there's a 3" pipe clamped on just before the tips?

While we're on the subject, is the pipe going to the tips 2.5" diameter or 2.25' in diameter?

Any tips (no pun intended) would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would have a shop weld exhaust pipe the length you want right before the tip to extend it - NO clamps (fugly) - leave any welds already on the SS tip alone.
Let them worry about matching the pipe size.
that's my tip ;)

I have one car where the tips extend over 1.5 out from bumper arc (at top).

It helps decrease drone & undercar sound and some people really LIKE the look.

My stock car now seems like they are too far in. I am in process of extending them now.
