No issues with fitment in a 2003 300a I assume? Tach work perfectly well?

2003 & 2004 instrument clusters are the same and are interchangeable.

Correct. The only difference is that this has the traction conrol light. Yours is the only tach I've ever seen go bad, so I'd assume this is good.
