It would probably make the install easier.

You will need to plug the port on the headers when you install them.

Yes I am waiting for them so I can find the right plug. Do you know what size it is?

IIRC It's something like 22MM. Silly Ford wouldn't just use a standard or iron pipe thread.
Edit: I see a few referring to the size being 7/8 X 14 thread. Still an odd size.
I just cut off the tube except the last inch and welded a dime to it. 10 cents and 1 minute = one less concern and off to the next hurdle. [emoji4]

Here is the cap for the EGR. They call it a plug, but it's not.

Bob Mathis, are you doing the install? Are you going to get Dyno numbers before and after? What about an exhaust vid? I'd love to hear the difference in sound.

I have a dyno sheet from when my S/C was installed. I will try and do a sound clip before and after. And yes I am doing the install.

I reused the factory studs on all but the 2 top center tubes. Cylinder 6 and 7. The studs were too long and hit the tubes. Used the supplied bolts in those 2 spots.
Just an FYI on an issue I had.

As long as your original tube is and stays intact, right?
Can't get an OEM tube if you lose the original, I believe...so treat it tenderly ;)
