It has been reported that a new 2003 MM was beaten by a Sable.
Was this a one-time event or are the MM's going to be a target of this little monster?
This is how the American Heritage Dictionary describes the Sable ...
SABLE , Noun, "Carnivore (Martes zibellina, family Mustelidae) that inhabits forests of N Asia and is highly valued for its fur. The name is sometimes applied to related European and Asian species and to the Amer. marten. The sable is 13-20 in. (32-51 cm) long, excluding the 5-7-in. (13-18-cm) tail, and weighs 2-4 lbs (0.9-1.8 kg). The coat varies from brown to almost black. The solitary, arboreal sable eats small animals and eggs."
Now it seems that it has evolved to eat MM's.

I don't care where it came from, or where it's going, or how. But if the little fu**ker gets near my ankle, it's D E A D.
IMHO...

Sergnt,
They're low enoph, you can just kick 'em off. They can't help they're teething... :D
BAD,
That would be one of my many toys! It's a Dun Buggie with a VW 1500 in it. Broke the suspension 5 times on it jumping! Only had it a year too... :D

LincMercLover,
Ah, that was my guess. Sounds like a lot of fun. For now I am stuck with just one toy. :(
But! my 5 year old daughter has shown interested in driving quarter midgets! We are going to put her in "driving school" sometime around March. Maybe I will end up building a race car!
I also have this almost un-natural desire to pick up a Model A two door sedan hot rod. I need to work on that one.

Hey, if you want it, I'll sell it. It's actually my sis's, but since I rein over all things with engines attached in the family, well, you know... :D But she's been wanting to get rid of it.

Even though is sounds like fun, I don't want it. Too many other things I want first! :D

What on earth do you guys do with a buggy in St Louis MO????
We have sand dunes within 100 miles of us but I thought MO was trees and rivers

Rivers have sand dunes built up. There's one place about an hour away that's a "sand park." On my farm (where it's at), there's a lot of hills a open fields. Baisically do doughnuts and jump until it breaks, fix it, and go do it again. I use it to climb through the woods and stuff too, no one else in my family can seem to. They're not all quite as good on hills with sticks as me I guess...

WOW, Just think what a sable could do to a Mustang Cobra, or a '96 Impala SS even!
Why has Ford been keeping the Sable such a secret??

I raced quarter midgets when I was a kid. I grew up in a racing family. It was a lot of fun and produced lifetime happy memories! Any interest that you can share with your kids like that will mean a lot to them.

James,
I am glad to here that. I am worried about the "competition” factor with racing quarter midgets. Not with the kids, but with the parents. I want the family activity part more than trying to have my daughter win a race. We hung out at the track 3 times before it shut down for the season this year to get a feel for the camaraderie. It seems pretty low key and most (not all) parents are there for the kids.

Sable?? No way. I had a Taurus with the DOHC. It was mildly warmed over exh, intake, chip, good tires and wheels. I have to say, no way not even close. I mean the Taurus went down the freeway nice, but was still slow off the line even with the mods. 3800lbs and 200hp. stock verses 4200lbs and 300hp stock. The tourqe from the DOHC v6 is rated at 200. The motors are very simillar in design so the tourqe curves are prob. simillar. again no way. Mabye he had the motor off?
