The motor is torqued in, transmission, flex plate, cross member, exhaust, starter, blower, (minus inlet), first row FEAD SYSTEM,A/C,
waiting on blower tensioner bolts, injectors, transmission filler tube & trans dip stick, retune for 60#'ers, maybe a new hand held with the tune.
Also still sourcing bolts for torque converter to flex plate & water inlet .
Oh and the oil gauge and maybe volt gauge go back in.
I bought all fluids beforehand, but I get to buy them again!
Rebuilt Cobra motor upgraded with;
Hardened head bolts
7qt. Oil pan
Ford racing oil pump
F R water pump
F R high torque starter
F R 60# fuel injectors
Crossover temp sensor
Upgraded maf
Trans upgrade was JW wheel & ARP bolts

I've had it towed four times , from the track to home, (thanks Eric),home to storage, storage to shop #1, shop #1 to shop #2.
The last one prolly was a manual push , shop #1 closed down , shop #2 is only a few feet away.

Glad to see you getting close..Its been a long time coming!!
What did you end up doing with the Cobra Motor?
Did you change pistons or just a freshen up?
Bradley G
10-25-2015, 01:36 PM
Builder said the nicks in the top of pistons were superficial and would be no issue.
It got new main bearings and all freshened up.
Heads were all gone through and several valves replaced.
Coil racing engines, did the rebuild.

Had a leak at the trans dip stick tube, missing an O ring.
Easy peeasy, three coils were not quite snapped snug at the connection causing rough idle/check engine .
Still have gauges to install, a/f and oil pressure.
She ran for an hour and I drove her a block to get three years with of grunge washed off!
Huge thanks to valued member and friend T-bone,
He helped me get the start up tune loaded .
Went back to Lonnie for my tune.
Was having trouble with the new flash tool, it would not load the tune to the device.
Had tech support @SCT scratching their heads .
Lonnie Doll made the adjustments in the existing tune for the 60# injectors and MAF ,
As stated earlier , first started rough due to a few misfires, but once corrected settled down to smooth as glass.
Once the a/f is installed we can sample the readings and make sure it is calibrated.
It felt really strange to drive it , even for just a minute!

Not much to report , equipment failure holding me back currently.
The lift won't go up! , Idled a few blocks for 14 gallons of 93 and back to the shop.
It has had 5-6 heat cycles so far .
Just cleaning up my mess on the bay from the work so far.
Oh, and I'm missing a cap for the transmission, not the one on the bottom, the one that covers the flexplate bolts access.
The tough part is looking for something that you don't know what it looks like!

The average car in the USA is 11.4 years.
If the mfgs continue to discontinue the aftermarket will replace.
The mfgs should open their licensing if they are discontinuing.

Waiting on a FireWire cable that I ordered on Amazon, the box stores either did not have them in stock or don't carry them .
That's to connect the air fuel gauge to the hand held .
Supposed to be here on Wednesday.
I also ordered the GM supercharger oil and differential gasket
Still need gear oil and modifier.
justbob
11-30-2015, 05:42 AM
I wouldn't use a diff gasket. Black RTV by itself has a much better chance of sealing it up.

No diff gasket, use RTV as mentioned, just be sure to follow the package directions.
Most synthetic fluids (75w-140) don't need any friction modifier. I recommend Redline.

Any store should have them. There's a couple different versions too. You may not get your fuse block cover back on depending on what you choose.
