How do I disconnect the top?

The bottom is cake.

Take apart the center console and you'll see how it comes off.

And for whatever reason it heads straight north up in the dash. I removed mine with cable cutters. [emoji6]

The cable heads to the firewall, then to the left, out the interior, around and down then to the transmission.
It's a long, long road, with many a winding turn....

But, the ends both disconnect easily.

It required a lot of work.

I found a donor car in a junkyard. Not a Marauder, but a Lincoln mark 8. Same trans, engine (overall) and floor shifter. Same last 6 digits for the part number too. I hope it works.

$78 though Ford and no one else has it. I don't like on-line orders.

The yard didn't charge me when I put it on their desk.

I hope it fits, but I don't see a reason why it shouldn't.

Lincoln Cable didn't work. Had to bite it and buy a new one from Ford. They marked it down to $50 like Zack mentioned.

Might have the car back on the road today.
