Are you asking this specifically like for our "V" Engine Code identifier in the VIN ?? Our "V" means 4.6 Liter, DOHC, 302 HP.

Or are you asking generically about V-6, V-8, or V-12 engines as opposed to straight or I-6s ??

Im looking for a way to identify the engine visually just sitting in the engine bay. I know it is a V code.

The difference between an SOHC and a DOHC are very obvious.

I know the differences. However a MK VIII engine is similar. Im looking for a way to identify a V engine from any other 4 valve engine.

Yes, the valve covers on 32 valve engines look like a small jon boat.
