Next is to install the
AUTOMETER dual A-Pillar pod with trans gauge & ZEX gauge
& METCO Driveshaft loop when it arrives from ADTR next week.:)

I won't have much time to test it out cus time to winter store it soon.:(
The MM WILL be ready for Louisville & a trip to Mo's for a few more mods in April.

That's a hell of a rebuild, i thought you already had a built trans

It was rebuilt a year ago but a few weeks after the Aug dynos the trans started to slip a little but thought nothing of it till driving to Vegas when it failed.
Cause:
The B&M shift kit wasnt pumping enough oil causing the 3rd 4th to fail,Overheating the converter. The converter clutch system was found to be to weak & not adequate for the power & heat increase.:depress:

But now the trans has better stronger,up to date parts.
The big test is Louisville & to Mo's in April & some ZEX track runs in May. :banana2:

So they screwed you IMHO

Because they didn't cover the trans under warranty.

You told me it was built for 500hp originally.

Don't be a pushover, just sayin.......

Part of the trans work was under warranty locally,But not the Converter & other parts I ordered from TCI which they recomended & clam can hold 500 + HP.

The local shop contacted TCI & couldn't get any where with them :censor: & went to a different source.
Took 2 weeks for the shop to find the right combo & with a full warranty.:)

How could they have got him to buy it and not install it
(it was the same trans shop the second time)

B&M and TCI have never, ever been good trans parts or convertors in cars I've owned or known, over 35 years.
Just like Crane Cams. Junk.
I hope they used other vendors on this build.

The B&M shift kit was installed in 09 when the motor & trans were stock,But it wasn't replaced or modified on the first trans build & worked fine.

The B&M shift kit & converter failed burning gears a few weeks after the degreeing & ZEX dyno in Aug as the MM is now at a higher matched HP & torque level.:)
I asked other local trans shops about the Jmod in 09 & the one that did the work & 1.they don't know what a Jmod is 2.they don't want to be accountable if it's done wrong.:mad2:

I hope It's a better combo, but I would like to go S/C & forged at some point but right now I'll get the MM ready for it. :)

Honestly, they charged a lot of money and didn't upgrade any of the hard parts.

On all my supercharged transmission rebuilds I upgrade the intermediate stub shaft with a piece machined from 300m alloy. its also a good idea to upgrade the mechanical diode one way clutch to the newest version that has more locking teeth. Its much stronger than the earlier design and can withstand more abuse under the full throttle pulls during 1st and 2nd gear. Lubrication improvements are a MUST, for any rebuild and really improve lubrication to critical areas. Since you are running Nitrous in your car, 300M shaft is required in my opinion.

The only thing worse than a TransGo shift kit, is a B&M shift kit. As Jerry has pointed out several times, these kits are trying to mechanically override internal transmissions functions that are controlled by the ECM.

I worked as a cam grinder for crane cams when i was younger.... Our chinese garbage rough castings were unbelievably porous and whenever we got a really bad batch, steve crane would just tell us to keep grinding away until it looked good, to hell with correct base circle or advertised lift... I think the company went to **** when harvey retired....

Thanks for the info.:2thumbs:

Right now it's as far as the MM will go HP wise.
Next big $$ step is forging & S/C & may take time to plan it out,The big prob is local shops here are not repeatable to build or tune one.:shake:

It's why I like to visit Mo's after an event 1,735 + mile's away for upgrades.
