Wow !!! What a beautiful weekend and great time with our Marauder friends. A Big Thanks to Haggis & Ladyhawke for organizing a great event. Bernie and I had a great time and enjoyed the company and all the places that we visited. The hotel selection was right on the money ... wonder why we weren't invited to join in the wedding party ?? Bet we had more fun. Sorry that we had to bail a little early on Saturday. It was great hanging out and socializing with the gang. We look forward to the next ABT. Oh yeah, welcome :welcome1: to the club, Corey !!
Finally tally was 11 cars, I think --- 10 MMs (7 Black, 0 Silver, 1 DTR and 2 Blue) and a Silver CVLX Sport.
Attendees included:

Below is a photo of the B-26 Marauder "FLAK BAIT" undergoing restoration and preservation at the Udvar-Hazy Air & Space Center. This plane will eventually be reassembled and put on display. It is one of the most storied bombers during World War II. This particular B-26 Marauder flew an unprecedented 207 combat missions during WW II and collected more than 1,000 holes over its life due to artillery flak and gunfire. It is a true survivor that brought her multiple crews back home safely every time. Since combat crews were rotated after 25 missions, this plane serviced 8-9 different crews in its combat lifetime. Go Marauder !!!

Corsair signed by Pappy Boyington. Black Sheep Squadron TV show was based on his unit. He signed it in the wheel well. Not sure if it was his plane.

Looks like a great trip!
It was and it was a beautiful weekend for cruising the twisting roads in northern and Western Loudon County. We were probably within 2 miles of the West Virginia line when visiting the Old 690 Brewing Company. Fall colors were at their peak. The Bratwurst truck at Old 690 was a nice touch for "Brats & Beer" lunch.
Now I know how the "Lost Rhino Brewery" got its name. We got lost coming and going from Lost Rhino. GPS Jill had no idea how to get back to Route 7. Several mandatory U-Turns were required for this part of the ABT.

What's a Marauder meet without a least 1 U-turn?;)

Did anyone see Charles "Chuck" Yeager at the Air & Space Museum last Friday ?? He was there to commemorate 68 years since his Bell X-1 "Glamorous Glennis" flight that broke the sound barrier. Seems someone in our group may have noticed him. He was in a wheel chair at the X-1 exhibit. He has to be about 95 now !!

I believe the X-1 is at the Air & Space Museum on the National Mall, it would have been awesome to meet him.

There one in the Restoration Hangar at Dulles, one in the Boeing Hangar at Dulles, and one downtown. The FB posting said he was at the Udvar-Hazy Center. Bell made 3 X-1s. Glamorous Glennis is listed both at the Dulles Center and down on the National Mall. WTF ?? The FB photo looks like he is in the Mary Engen Restoration Hangar near where the B-26 Marauder "Flak Bait" was located.

I wondered to Ms.D if the Yeager plane was in the museum somewhere. I didn't see it, nor do I remember seeing a man in a wheelchair. I would imagine he would have had a crowd around him. Perhaps he was there on Saturday.

The only thing that I learned is that I am confused  Haggis and Ladyhawke also think that Chuck Yeager was at the downtown National Mall location.

Gen. Yeager was in DC at the Air & Space Museum not at the Udvar-Hazy Center.
