Picked up my new MM this afternoon. Beautiful spring day in New England. Drove home veeery carefully. Parked it in the garage, cracked open a beer, sat down in a white plastic chair I keep in the garage and just stared at the best looking car I've ever owned. What a rush. I just love it, love it, love it.

Finished the brew, called my office for messages (none), and took the rest of the day off.

Needed an inspection sticker so I went down to Midas. Guys in the bay doing the inspection looked over and I got my first "thumbs up"!

Took a ride to get smokes, parked, got out and a guy pumping gas looks up at her and says, "Now that's a great looking car!"

Checked on my sister-in-laws' new addition being built and there was 10 guys doing a new roof. Pulled up and the whole group stops and stares...more thumbs up.

And that's in only three hours since I took ownership.

This is going to be fun.

Dave,
Congrats on your new ride.

Do you mean the dealer didn't inspect the car before delivery?? :nono: Is that a local thing. Dealers here in VA at least include the inspection and the window sticker to cover the first year.

Well, yes, the dealer does a full "new car" prep and inspection but you drive outta the lot with 7 days to get an emissions and safety check at independent garages (that pay big bucks to the state to provide that service.) Once a year ya gotta go back and spend another $39.00 to have them check the car and get the window sticker. It's such a rip-off with new cars, of course. My personal feeling is that after 5 years those checks should begin. New cars? Give me a break. It's just another tax in Taxachusetts. But, on the flip side - MA has the best hospitals and schools in the country.IMHO And I just love New England. Nothing prettier than Fall in New England. And, I love the winter, too. I can't wait for next winter to be sitting next to the woostove, coffee in hand, and the MM safely tucked in the garage while the winter winds howl and the snow piles up outside
