has anybody put led tail lights on their Marauder yet? If you did, how was it done and did you use your stock lights or replace them. Thanks in advance for any help on this. Jim.

Several members have dropped in LED bulbs with good results. As far as an LED retrofit, member larryo hacked up a Mercury Montego? older taurus/500 equivalent's assembly and retrofitted into grand marquis lamps.

There is an LED tail lamp assembly you can buy on ebay made for crown vics, but not sure of the quality. Seems like they use the lowest grade SMDs on those.

LJon24s and Bigm460 have the LEDs tail light housings off eBay, they look great, might want to pm them , not sure how well they function, most members have LEDs lights in the oem housings my self included, and they work / look great.

Do you have to install resistors. Any pics?

any pics of light output? Also did this create 'hot spots' or is the lighting evenly spread out? Are the bulbs worth the money as far as before and after effect goes?

That's what I used when I did the retrofit on my Marquis the lights flash same as before. I cut up a Crown Vic tail lamp to see if the Montego parts would work as they did in the Marquis, and I found that the Crown Vic/Marauder tails are not as deep which is going to take a lot more time and work to get it done.

For those that haven't seen the MGM LED retrofit here's the link:

This is what I have on my Vic. Had them for 3 years now. They are excellent and look as good as the day I got them. Unfortunately I am no longer able to locate these for sale. The new style has 4 rows of LEDs and I think might actually use lower quality diodes.

Found them here but no idea what currency that is.

I'm no mechanic, but a decent parts replacer... For those of us who are nervous doing wiring... (and in my case, body work as well) Could you go into a bit more detail? What flasher? Where to get it? Where/how you wire it in...

I bought the electronic flasher from advance auto as the pic shows a 2 pin flasher is required, but you can use a 3 pin

bellow is a pic of how the flasher is installed :
