The standard Mercury Marauder in 1969-70 was equipped with the 390 c.i. engine. The optional X-100 option of this generation of the Marauder is equipped with the 429 c.i. engine.

Like he said, standard drive in a 1969-70 Marauder was the 390 2V and 3-on-the-tree. 429 4V and automatic were both options.

Only the X100 came standard with a 429 automatic.

gotcha. I assumed by the style, it was an X100
That explains the wimpy single exhaust etc.
