Not sure if shudder is right. But I have noticed that when I take off lately that the trans feels like it is slipping some or shuddering some when I first take off. Now not all the time. I have all so noticed that it does not seem to shift hard as it us to. I do have the J-mod done. Car has 22,700 on it.
Anyone have some in put? All so some good place to maybe rebuild the trans.?

I don't see how the trans needs rebuilt at 22700 miles

maybe change the rear end dope, and put Ford friction modifier in there, this cured my shudder, clutches must have been sticking

I started having the same problems after doing the j-mod. The car isnt shifting hard as it use too. Now im starting to think if theres something wrong with the rear end and not the trans.

I am thinking the same about my rear end. I changed the oil at 22,000. But like I said it makes some nose when I turn hard to the right going into my drive.

Blown cars can eat transmissions.
Is your convertor stock?
What tune are you running?
Friction modifier , can help a shudder , but I've only heard of using it if the shudder is while cruising at speed.

Your trans needed to be rebuilt.

The guy we use at our shop does a great job and we have had zero issues.
I do not know what is wrong with your car from comments on the internet but you are welcome to ride out to us and we will look it over.

I may just have it rebuild. I would just like it to be able to handle the power with out worrying about it.

You are nowhere near the power level or miles that would cause a stock transmission to fail Bob!!:shake:
Take it to Marty and let them check it out.......probably need more Friction Modifier in the rear end!!
BTW, my OEM transmission went 177K miles before it started slipping and the last 93K miles were with the blower!!:burnout:
Good Luck!!

You don't have a choice, unless you like to push it .

Took the car to my shop and added a little more modifier. I all so found my cold air tube had come off the TB. Had a rough ideal. Not sure if is was out enough to cause the system to go nuts. But cars does good for now. We shall see.

Due to your symptoms of shatter (stalling) while the car shifts I suspect of a weak Coil On Plug. A random misfire will give the same feeling as a bad T converter. I seen many people changing the t converter when at the end it was a faulty COP.
Common symptoms for a weak COPs are, stalling at high speed (40-50 mph) @ low RPM (1000-15000), car runs good at high rpms but when it shift the RPMs drop creating misfires and stalls. Car runs better when cold but when it warms up it starts wuith the issues.
OEM COPs usually lasts about 10 years. yours is low miles so who knows!
Just thought about bringing this up. Good luck!

When I put carbon clutches in my diff along with Royal Purple, no FM, it moaned after only 500 miles, especially turning right. New RP and friction modifier for good measure and it went away. Never thought it would need it so quickly.
