Overhead Console Removal????

Has anyone had the MM overhead console removed yet? I am trying to add lights to the garage door opener buttons.
I removed the three screws as stated in the Ford Workshop Manual but it still refuses to come off. I pulled so hard on the front of the console I was afraid it was going to break in two.

was'nt there a thread that said you had to remove the headliner for some screws inside of it.. :help:

No...but there is a thread around here somewhere with a full, and quite funny instruction on how to remove it. All I remember is that the console doesn't want to come out...you must convince it with every ounce of energy you have.:P

Yes you are correct, from the comments made it sounds like reomoving it will require alot of downward pull! Hope it doesnt break.
