Magnaflow Warranty Test!!!

Since I got the new engine installed and tuned I have been parking my Marauder in the garage......actually got rid of a "toy" that inhabited the garage!!:D

Well, when I would turn the engine off I would hear a fluttering noise under the car like a busted muffler.......naw.....can't be since Magnaflows are SS and have a lifetime warranty!!:shake:

Upon further examination and removal of the Magnaflow 18's that were installed by Bryan at Grand Muffler back in 2006, I found rotted weld seams on the topsides both mufflers (see photos)!!!:argue::mad2:

We replaced them yesterday with new versions that Magnaflow claims have much better weld seams......we'll see??:confused:

Also filing a claim and we'll see what happens!!:cool:

BTW, the new versions sound way better too!!:beer::bows:

Doesn't look like very good quality stainless. Hope they warranty them.

Me no likey either but with 200K miles on them I can't really complain about anything but the "Lifetime Warranty" claim and how nebulous it is......we'll see!!:cool:

BTW.....new ones installed were only $290.00.....surprised me in a good way!!:eek::D :burnout:

Are you sure the old ones were the stainless version, they used to make a mild steel version, if mines rust like that I'll probably go with Borla next time around.

Satin SS and they looked too nice to put under the car when Grand Muffler (Bryan Jones) installed them!!:bows:

The Magnaflow rep I spoke to yesterday said back then they used "mild steel" welds that have caused exactly what I have.....new production is all SS, welds included!!:beer:

My installer is going to get warranty replacements that I'll just sell or it's possible they will refund the $$$'s through his distributor??:confused:
