Who knows the stock front sway bar diameter?.... I don't have it with me and want to order new bushings.

2003 28mm
2004 29/29.5mm
EDIT:

yeah, same size/change for CVPI's 03/04, however they all got the 17mm rear, while rauders got the 21mm HPP rear bar.
EDIT:
Only the P71's got the change from 28 in 03 to 29 in 04, and possibly not all p71's.
We need this info verified. I don't believe it

My mistake. Ran vins and checked part numbers. looks like only the P71's got the 29 in 04, and the Marauder maintained its 28mm 3W7Z-5482-DA sway bar both years. Sorry for the mis-information, read it a while back.

So now your saying a p71 got larger sway bar than a Marauder:confused::shake:

98-02 police and cng also got 29.5, but the early suspension system is likely less effective per bar size,
2003 got the same # bar as Marauder, which may also be used on some 2004's.
but there are numbers for 04 CVPI that have the 29, or 29.5mm (depending on where you measure) that I have confirmed with a micrometer from 04 p71 in a yard.

The chart is second hand information, not directly from Ford , and it contradicts it's own information.

I am often told size doesn't matter...

Well I have measured the difference between a 28 and a 29mm bar with a micrometer, I've got the spare 03+ 29mm bar at home. Take the information as you will.

So I ran OASIS/HVBoM and checked factory installed parts lists on the following vehicles:
2003 Marauder:
3W1Z-DA (28mm)
2004 Marauder (Built January 12th 04):
3W1Z-DA (28mm)
2004 Crown Vic Civilian:
4W1Z-BA (26.5mm)
2004 Crown Vic P71 (Built September 03):
3W1Z-DA (28mm)
2004 Crown Vic P71 (Built May 04)
4W1Z-DA (29mm)
Leads me to believe the 28-29mm change happened mid-year, as both 04 P71's did not have the same bar. All HVBoM part number match up with P71Interceptor's Database.
Anyone want to volunteer their LATE 04 build vin so I can check if late built 04 Marauders might have gotten the same change as the P71's?

I'd wager the bushings for 28 or 29mm bar will be the same. Certainly will work.

1mm difference on the bushing is like using 1oz of silicone lube on it or .5oz.. Won't matter once you slide it in ;)

1MM equals literally a hair over 1/32". That would leave you with 1/64 all the way around and scratching your head as to why you cared about it as it tightened up perfectly..

Why would Ford make a different bar with such a small difference in diameter ?

The 2002 LSE HPP needs the front end links and sway bushings.
When I looked on Rock Auto to get the bushings, there were three sizes listed.
I was too lazy to crawl under and measure , it was cold weather here!
