View Full Version : Air Suspension Going Bad ?

My 2004 Marauder has 209 K on it and recently I noticed when I shut the ignition off I hear a buzzing sound from what seems like under the ride side dash or possibly in the engine compartment near the firewall on the right side. When this happens I do not get that familiar decompression sound from the air suspension system when you shut down which I like to call the "Darth Vader Sound." (Reminds me of Darth Vader breathing deeply). When I get the "Darth Vader Sound" I notice the buzzing noise is not present. Also it sometimes but rarely does it when I start the car. Normally the air suspension kicks in when I start the car. I appreciate anyone who can give me a suggestion as to what this may be and what the fix is or is this something else and not the air suspension system? Thanks a bunch.

The location sounds like the HVAC blend door. mine sounds like a creeking door closing as engine vacuum is lost when turning the car off sometimes.

the air ride compressor is in the front driver side of the engine bay below the air filter, so it doesn't sound like that's your noise.

Hey Ourobos thanks so much for the quick reply. I'll have my mechanic check it out at next oil change.

Its gotta be either the blend door actuator or one of the valves that open/close the air ducts.
