It's "PCV" (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) and you can reinforce a heavy rubber hose with a copper tube inside and plug the other end into the PCV valve then hose clamp the reinforced end into the fitting on the intake!!

Or you can buy the whole assembly from Ford for $20.

Thanks, I went ahead and started a new thread and ordered the part.
Would this being cracked cause a CEL?Yes, and it caused the car to run like it had a cam, at least until it warmed up. I found it because I could hear the leak, even though I am hard of hearing.
I wrapped a piece of black duct tape around the hose. Has held good enough that I passed my e-check over two months ago.

Ford has over 400 of them in stock now. If you need one they are available. 30-35 bucks if you get a discount. I ordered 2 as it seems like a part Ford will obsolete someday.

3W3Z-6C324-AA. I pulled this # out of a different PCV thread. Your local Ford dealer can verify.:)

I'm going to crack mine on purpose to give it that cam sound!
I'll admit, I was from the extremely poor side of town growing up so I took my first Mustang's muffler off and pulled the choke closed a little at idle to give it that cam sound. :banana2: Hey, but I had a very nice plush carpeted (free carpet) trunk and some wild hand applied pin-stripping.
No mud flaps, STP stickers or curb notifiers, though. I did have the highly desirable shackle extensions to give it that pro-mod rake.
