There is now free software available to tune virtually any 99-04 ford vehicle, including your marauder. All you would need to buy is a Moates Quarter Horse (http://www.moates.net/quarterhorse-for-fords-p-199.html) and a laptop. Then download Tuner Pro RT (http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadApp.htm) and the definitions and stock tune file from efidynotuning (http://info.efidynotuning.com/fbfg2.htm) there is lots of good "how to" on efidynotune too. Here is a getting started thread http://www.efidynotuning.com/started.htm

What this setup allows you to do over sct is, live tuning. You do not need to turn the car off to make a change to the tune. It is the greatest thing in the world.:)

I'm still looking for the base marauder tune on efi's site, but I plan to start playing with this soon.

Nice! Would be nice for forced inducted marauders, tie in the wide band, tell it to maintain 11.2:1 air fuel and tuning it within minutes.

Turbo tweak does this for our buicks

Why in the world would you want to maintain an afr that rich:confused:

Does this allow you to change the shift and lockup schedule?

10.8 is rich

11.2 - 11.4 is just right on the buicks with methanol, remember we have 8.5 compression and run 25-35 psi on pump gas and meth

What do you tune for on the marauders with forced induction?

I thought you were talking about the Marauder, not the GN.

I commented on your thread where you made some awesome amount of power! hope you don't mind me bringing that picture here :)
Sure looks like 11.4 on your car too , or at least that's what they were trying to get it to.
I still say it needs more fuel above 6200. I consider 11.8 or higher lean, but then again the marauder has aluminum heads

Imagine setting your direct drive target air fuel and it never varies from that.

Just like running a FAST system. Set it, tune it and your done, if something goes wrong the computer can add up to x amount more fuel

No i dont mind at all, thank you, i like exactly where Jeff has the AFR through the power band , and 11.8 isn't lean , and yes the Marauder has aluminum heads, and block.

The majority of SC Marauders run best at 11.2-11.4 AFR
Anyone saying that is not a good target AFR is silly

Added info to first post. Download tuner pro rt and then added a getting started link (http://www.efidynotuning.com/started.htm)

Have you used this with success on a Marauder? Looks like that Montes hardware is for EEC equipped cars - more for pre-OBD2 by the looks of it.

I'm working on it. Waiting for my tune to get converted instead of starting from scratch to see if it works.

I have been using the QH for years on my tbird with the eec 4. And yes the QH is mostly used on the non OBD2 stuff so you could datalog without external sensors. But it will work on EECs with the chip port as long as someone creates the software files to decode the EEC strategies.

Any updates on this?

He has moved from a mustang strategy to the Marauder strategies. Cause the Maruder EECs are more advanced. So that should make it a little more straight forward for us when he is done decoding it.

That is good news, I would eventually like to understand and be able to adjust tuning, especially transmission parameters.

Sherms car would not start with the converted tune. The Maruder has the starter circuit run thru the EEC. That is one of the reasons he is now using the maruader strategy.

I just stumbled across this

intetesting enough when I first started on the marauder strategy i didnt even own one, now I do and its completely unrelated as well

funny how that works
