Hi everyone, bought a 2003 marauder from a dealer, I took it to my mechanic to have him look it over. he found the bearing need attention. I told the dealer they said it would be taken car of. the dealer told me It wasn't anything but tabs on new brakes.,6 weeks later hear a noise and took it to my mechanic. he suspects its the differential . I called the dealer and he didn't like how the conversation was going and hung up on me. does anyone know if im going to have a hard time replacing parts. i know I have a battle with the dealer but im as concerned about having the parts available. now that i have that problem and now i am doubting everything about the car

This platform is notorious for bad axles. This has been very well known for many years.

What dealer, what color, there are many reputable repair places there that won't soak you, if it is axles, do an upgrade to the 31 spline. Contact adam on here, he can point you in the right direction. We lived in Mentor, P'ville township for years before moving south in 2010.

Bearings, rings and pinions, axles, seals are easily available thru aftermarket: FRPP, Rock Auto, Summit racing etc.

I got new axles for mine from Advance Auto Parts. Came with axle, bearings, seals, lugs, and lug nuts for about $175

If you want an honest answer to your thread, yes Mercury Marauder is a money sponge.
Your experience may differ!
