Replaced the factory radio with the replacement talked about here. Seems like it is slightly larger? Will not push all the way in to lock inplace like the original did. Anyone else have this issue?

Yes, took the white plastic piece off.
escape audiophile radio right? it was like 5+ years ago when I did mine inmy first marauder. one side was tougher to "click" make sure everything behind it is tucked away. got give it a firm push as best as I remember

The wire harnesses are what you are fighting. Make sure the one harness is clipped into place,... that probably the one that's too short anyway

Have not had a chance to try it yet. Was working on wet sanding and buffing to remove a few scratches on the hood when we had some nicer weather.(Which by the way came out great).
Now just need more nice weather so the garage is warm. Hate working on the car when it is cold out.
