Hey Guys
Would it be worth it for me to buy a CVPI driveshaft and install it? I`m running 4`10 gears and get vibration around 100+ with the factory shaft.
So the question is can the CVPI shaft hold up or will it turn into a wet noodle too?

just take yours to a driveshaft shop and have it balanced, if your allready having vibrations cheak your tailshaft bushing for damage

balancing will increase critical speed only if the balance job was imperfect in the first place, beyond a perfect balance you are gonna run into limitations w/ the shaft itself
babbage where are you?

I did the ebay game, it is tough to get sellers to verify color codes, and then even toughter to get a shaft that does not have dings and cuts in it from rough junkyard handling. It can be done but you have to make sure the seller is willing to accept the shaft back if it ends up being wrong or damaged.

What are the codes to a CVPI shaft ??? just so I do not get ripped off.
Good luck. Get a dynotech carbon fiber shaft. I would normally recommend a Dynotech MMC shaft but they're no longer available. If you pull it and get the measurements and specifications on the front & rear yokes you can get a MMC shaft custom-made from Mark Williams Enterprises.

We have CVPI length driveshafts. Most CVPI's use an aluminum shaft similar to the Marauder, but without a damper. Some use an MMC shaft with a higher critical speed than ours. The literature I have found says pink/green stripes or pink/green/blue are MMC. Pink/green/green are stock Marauder plain aluminum and pink/blue/orange are CVPI plain aluminum (without damper). Some of the newer CVPI's have shafts that are different from these color codes but no one has ever chimed in about newer CVPI's having MMC shafts so I couldn't tell you about the new stuff.
All based on what I have read, take it for what its worth.

If you're fixin' to take the car to Europe, you ought to fix it with the best possible solution before you go. Best easy solution is the CF shaft from Dynotech. Best but less easy is the Mark Williams MMC shaft.
