    Abs module

Looking at running offset tires like on a marauder. With my stock abs module it will freak out. Can I swap a abs module from a marauder into my 02 crown Vic Sport. The marauder is an 03.

I have the sct4 but don't know much about it. I come from the land of imports (dsm) and have the Vic as a daily. So I don't know if you can fix it with a handheld tuner.

I think you mean traction control?

The wheel offset will not affect the ABS nor the traction control.

There needs to be a 3% - 5% difference in diameter between the front and rear tires to satisfy the traction control parameters.

Traction control is on on the 2004 Marauders.

I have traction control on my 02 Vic. As far as I know the abs module on the marauders is different because they come with offset tires from the factory, crown Vics did not, it is the same size tire all the way around. Traction control should not be affected. The abs might have a fit due to the different sized tires if I was to put them on there.

He owns a 2002 cv sport. Those have traction control and since his car has the same size tires on it, he is worried if he goes with staggered tires, then the tc will light up like the 04 marauders do with wrong size tires.

Is there a solution to this vs pushing the tc button daily?

So swapping in the 03 abs module will not work?

Thank you for helping him out

Thanks turbov6bryan for helping clear things up. Thanks everyone else for the replies. Looks like we are just going to have to try it and see if anything happens. We'll talk more after work.

Chris tried to swap out a same year GM ABS module for me, no luck, then tried to reprogram it no luck there either. I asked my local mechanic and he agreed that the 04 MM ABS module is specific to the ABS module with traction control.

So then I would need an abs module from an 04 marauder since I have abs and traction control?

yes, you can still find them new occasionally - very expensive. Be patient and you can find one for a hundred or so used from a totaled 04. Supposedly there is a place that rebuilds these but they never returned my emails. Ultimately its only in snow or rain that you would really have to worry. I know rains a lot here in Chicago but knock on wood I've been ok

What you need is a non-traction control module from an 02 CV or GM. The 03 up module is different than the 02 down.

The ABS only system won't freak out with the staggered tires, only the ABS with traction control. I've ran staggered tires on a couple of ABS only Crown Vics specifically an 03 and 05.
