    Very sad .. never been there, but any place of worship that is destroyed by fire is a sad day.

    Amazing if you think about how it survived the French revolution and two World Wars. A sad thing indeed.

    Was undergoing restoration....probably a careless worker flicked a cigarette and it lit some 750 year old timbers.
    Really a sad loss.

    A sad loss without a doubt but also quite a miracle that nobody got killed and only one firefighter was hurt. What strikes me though is that the catholic chruch is one of the wealthiest organizations in the world so for them to rebuild Notre Dame would just be pocket money and yet they received hundreds of millions in donation money. I could think of far more important causes to donate those millions to.
