Insurance more on CVPI than Marauder

This is funny. I just purchased a winter beater yesterday a 2000 CVPI for 2k. I added it to my insurance policy and the CVPI is $12.00 more per 6 months than my 03 Marauder for liability. I just get a laugh that a 215 hp car is more than a 302 hp car.

maybe you should register it as a 2ndary vehicle, it would be less to pay.

And you want it that way. I had a Caravan for a beater. When I took the Caravan off the insurance, the premium went UP due to exclusive use of a 'performance' car!!!

My 95 CVPI was much less overall than the MM and either of my 92 GMLSHPP.
    (#6178 in black per FPIC)
Call 1-800-FORD-788 and press "1". Have the last 6 of your VIN handy. You will get the numbers for FREE. You'll pay $$$ for the certificate.

MM traded in 8/9/13 @ 128909 miles. It was fun for almost 8 years. I met airmercpun on 1/17/14. He was the new owner of my former ride. -Now gone.

Update: back in the game with a late build 03 GMGS with some MM add ons like Escape audiophile radio w/Sirius sat radio, rear sway bar, catback exhaust, and header panel.

    Rest In Peace:

See my garage file for part numbers and whatnot.

IMHO, this site- the members that I chat with- and the ones that I now Hang with- are like my 2nd family. There is such an ongoing welcome feeling here that even members who don't or no longer own the MM can feel.

I also pay more for liability on a 2000 CVPI than I do for the MM, but it's more like $84 for the year.

??? I have a 01 cvpi and a 04 marauder and my insurance on the VIC is about half of what my marauder is. I have statefarm and my VIC is listed as a daily driver.

This is the liability only portion. I don't have collision, etc. on the CVPI.

When I had my CV Sport, the insurance was higher than I thought it should be. When I asked the girl on the other end of the phone why it was so high, her response was "because the old people wreck them". But, at that time, it was also my primary car.

The price difference may also be due to safety features. Does the CVPI have side airbags? If not, that's probablly the reason right there. The more safety features a car has, the lower the rate.
That's how my insurance co. explained it to me a few years ago when I changed from a Grand Marquis to a slightly newer Town Car. The Town Car was cheaper. They said it was because the Town Car had more safety features on it. Sometime minor things like cornering lights can make a difference.

My buddy has a Lightning and has Geico, and you can enter a vehicle online just to see how much it will be, his L is more than an '03 Z06 would be. Just found that really funny.

The most likely reason is, because you have had the policy on the Marauder for some time, and the policy on the CV is a new policy. Give it a year(if you keep the car), the rate will drop.
