I ended up keeping my trunk space. I used an old enclosure from a previous system I modified for the new 12" JL Audio sub. (old sub had a trashed surround) Took the factory sub out, and it's mounting bracket. The box fit right in. I welded bolts onto the floor and bolted it down.

Sounds wonderful. Took a while to get it all adjusted to my taste. The head unit controls were kinda overwhelming to an old fart who doesn't like reading instructions.

The silver thing with the wires coming out of it on top of the sub enclosure is the little JL Audio XD700/5v2 5-channel amp that runs the system. Speakers are also JL Audio. Fronts are the Evolution C3 5.25" Component Speakers, and the rears are the 5x7 versions of the same.

Nice!! I removed the 15" house Speaker of course, but I decided to try some things with my 10's. I left the amp in bridge mode and bridged the 2 10's and WOW! I've had these subs for years and didn't know they could hit like that.

It's all JL Audio and Eclipse. There's a backup camera in the keyhole, DVD/Nav/iPod. The floor conceals the spare tire. it's lighted with LED's that are RGB for any and all color combinations.

This is out standing. Excellent set up man and looks real nice. I love that set up and still have plenty of trunk space left.

Depends on if you wire two subs in series or parallel, as the resistance changes dramatically. Also make sure your amp is rated for the resistance load you end up with. If you run a 2 ohm load and your amp isn't rated for it, it will overheat and be damaged. My 12W3v3-2 is a 2 ohm sub that can handle 500 watts RMS, but it matches up real well with my amp that is 2 ohm rated, and can safely put out 300 watts at 2 ohm on the sub channel. I chose the speakers sub and amp I have because how well they match up with each other on the spech sheets, and I got a pretty damn good sound out of it.

My subs are Kenwood kfc-xw1100dvc and they are wired as shown below in Figure 5.

JL door and rear speakers on a JL 4 channel amp. I had 6x9's put in the rear as well. It does sound good, well better now. I would still like to have 1 15" I could install when we take trips and need the space

Two 8's under the rear deck ported (port is inside the enclosure now). Soon to be 3 or 4 and ported into the rear deck.

How do you support the wood to the quarter panel where the amps are mounted?
