Re: Advice Requested / Removing Tips Resonators

Looking for some advice. I have the stock Marauder tips with resonators that came with the car. I have been told that removing the resonators would make the car sound better. The rest of the Marauder is stock. Is it worth removing the resonators? What would be the best way to do it without damaging anything? Thank you in advance.

I would leave them alone and just take the 2 rear cats off.

Removing the rear cats will make more of a difference, they are not monitored by the emissions system so no CEL comes on. The hard part is most exhaust shops wont remove a cat. monitored or not. Some might, but it is hit or miss.

The resonators only change the tone a little, it's not huge, the removing of rear cats does more.

I thought about a second cat delete, I have delete tips and Super 40's and it's quite loud. I'd be curious to see what it would sound like with the unnecessary restrictions removed.

Remove the center exhaust muffler and replace with Flowmaster 4 series. This will make it growl a little. If not loud enough, Then you can also chose to res delete. If you do res delete, suggest you then "extend" tips + 1 inch out back to keep sound from being trapped under car (drone). I've done this to both Marauders and love the muscular but adult sound. Also have gotten compliments from firemen, Texas highway patrol, and 2 different exhaust shops when my cars were smogged.
