Cruise spots in the North East

How about everyone sharing their favorite cruise spots? I know we've lost Bellmore here on Long Island. I hear it moved to Massapequa. I have spotted a MM at the Kohl's on Commack Rd. last Saturday night. It was a lady driver, but I did not get a chance to talk to her. I would assume that they will resume the Bald Hill cruise. How about Nathan's in Oceanside? Deer Park and Rt 231 has gone to the ricers, and there is no large gathering anymore. Same thing on Hempstead Turnpike the last time I was there.

Nathan's in Oceanside meets every Wednesday evening.

There are some good Westchester Driving Tours that we can do, if enough are interested.
Look at the Westchester brochure here...

I know it is dated, but the roads are still the same.

I've heard that the Captree parking lot on the east end of Ocean pkwy has a big meet every Sunday morning. I have made several trips down Ocean pkwy over the last 2 weeks, from Captree to Lido its like driving on the AUTOBAHN! Long and straight- didn't see any troopers ,only took my foot out of it to slow down for the big 'pencil' in the middle! Might have to cruise down to the boat basin one Sunday to see what kind of cars are showing up.

Bear in mind, the Suffolk Police have a "zero" tolerance policy regarding speeders. You've been warned....

Plus bear in mind that the Pencil at Jones Beach has claimed at least one that I know of.

Though they are nice flat and generally straight roads on the island. I'm from Yonkers/Westchester so I'm used to the hills & twists & valleys & hills & twists & valleys etc.

In the shopping center in the heart of town. I can get there by sight, but don't know the names of the roads. Next time I go up there (sometime in June) I will give you a call and you can join me.

I don't know about it being a cruising "Hot Spot" but I can tell you about one awesome road for driving. Check out this link...

    http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...s7J6rr5hdJJagd

Now, look for the road that goes right in between the two bodies of water. It runs from the south west and up to the north west. This road is in Westchest County, NY just outside of White Plains.

This road has some of the smoothest and sweetest high speed corners you can find. Further, it is two lanes in each direction. Now, to make it even better, there are very few points of outside access which would make it very, very easier to watch for LEOs.

I LOVE this road. And my father loved it before me. It is that good a road.

    Best,

    Dan
