    Shorty headers

My new shorty headers are shown below. Well sort of new shorty headers. KC tookl the stock units and sent them off to ExtrudehoneAFM to have the interior surfaces ported and polished to specifications provided by KC, owner of BRG Racing. Extrudehone AFM also ported and polished my heads.

KC is very particular about airflow through the engine. His efforts have produced highly acclaimed engines for car and motorcycle racers. I cannot wait to see the rwhp numbers out of my motor. It is work like this that will deliver over 400 rwhp.

I've read of positive results by extrude honing manifolds, head and intake ports. On another engine platform but air pumps are air pumps. nice.

You have a 300k Marauder and have those pieces of **** on your engine?

    This is shameful.
    Get some real headers.

Are you aware I live in Nazifornia? I have to pass CA Smog, dude.

Don't you think I want a Lincoln that embarasses Corvette, Viper and just about all else? When I retire and move to Texas, I will install a Kenne Bell 3.6 and a custom 3" exhaust system. Until then, I am doing all I can here in EPA's home state.

Are there any cars to which the emissions standards do not apply?

    haha only Cali

I had some FRPPP cobra shorties had to go back to cobra exhaust manifolds when I got rid of my stock manifolds. will not pass with this setup.

Also - had a JLT CAI (no carb eo) I swapped the cone with K&Ns to get the CARB# sticker but the left the JLT tube, no go. These guys looked up the image and said the air intake ok not the tube.. I eventually found shop that didnt lookup my intake tube and just made sure I had my carb sticker....silly.

Fir example would an LS powered 1978 Trans Am be subject to emissions standards?

It was not meant to be a trick question. Your earlier comments in this thread got me thinking about how hard it must be to hot rod in CA unless the earlier model cars are exempt.

That is the answer to my question.

Does the model year roll forward each year? For example in GA emissions only applies to '92 and forward. Next year it will be '93 and forward. There is a 25 year look back. Then again, some of our counties opt out and there is no emissions testing at all....

From my understanding if you have 80 trans am with an LSx swap you will need to bring all the emissions from the 02 trans am over. Also some counties in Cali are exempt as well. California simply states 79 and later will need smog. No look back. It just costs us mor and we have less options when it comes to performance setups.

I am looking to transplant a Duramax diesel into my 03 2500 burb will just need to transplant all smog gear over and all good.

California is a beautiful place to visit....

BUT not to own and mod a HP car.

I couldn't bring myself to spend all that money on a cast iron log manifold....but I understand your predicament.
At least (for now) Maryland (mini Nazifornia) just plugs into our OBD2 port and looks for bad things.
My Kooks headers and Hi-flow Cats don't throw any codes....so off I go!

CARB would love every lemming to own a Prius, Leaf, or Smart car.
CARB can shove a 3" header pipe up their 'exhaust port'.
