    Advice Requested

My old floor jack is not faring well and since I am someone that likes to do things himself, I will be looking for a new floor jack to work on my MM. It has been years since I have had to buy a new one. Does anyone have any advice, any preference for the best garage floor jack to buy? Thank you in advance.

I've had one of these for 42 years and it has served me well. It doesn't leak and the steel casters still roll like the day I received it. (my 15th birthday). It is constantly in use, even for my F250). Can't go wrong with anything made by Hein-Werner.

I really hate to admit this... but I'm still absolutely in love with my Harbor Freight 3 ton race jack after TEN years of very heavy use! I have really put this thing thru the paces and it has never once failed. Best $175.00 ever spent on a tool.

Nothing wrong with Harbor Freight. Tool companies have been overcharging for tools made in China for years. Harbor Freight is good for the consumer.

This is good timing I also looking for a new floor jack. I have used the aluminum harbor freight too. The last 3 ton I bought went straight back would not even work. I like the light weight aluminum but I think those jacks have gotten cheaper over the years. My first one I got there is better. I am leaning towards the Hein Warner my self. I will research some more yet.

    What Bryan said. ^^

I've fixed many jacks in the past and it's almost always just a simple O ring issue or missing C clip for a wheel and they are good to go.

Harbor Freight just started selling a new jack that is actually comparable to the Snap On jacks. It is yellow and named Daytona. For 180 on sale it's a very good deal.

I think this is the one you are referencing?

    http://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton-d...uty-63183.html

So I did some research and found out that the Snap-On is actually suing Harbor Freight over the design of the Daytona floor jack. Apparently, Snap-On feels that the Daytona is very similar to the design of their Snap-On FJ300 which goes for over $500.00 while the HF Daytona is selling for about $200.00

    https://www.biztimes.com/2016/09/22/...r-floor-jacks/

I wonder if the quality of the Daytona is comparable to the Snap-On jack?

Says it's 104lbs. Hope you don't have to lift it often.
