    Marauder Wheels on a Mustang

Was the Marauder wheel an option on the Mustang?

Quick answer is no. However, mustangs did have a wheel that looks like the Marauder wheel. The difference that I know about is how the center cap sits in the wheel. If you put the Marauder cap in a mustang wheel it will not sit flush. I believe all other measurements are the same.

    I found this on CL.

OEM Optional wheel package on V6 Pony package Mustang 2008-2009. Polished aluminum with clear finish.

3 with OEM tires mounted, 1 without. Includes OEM tire pressure sensors.

When my Dad owned the car, he mounted GT Bullitt wheels and set these aside. My sister now owns the car and she wants to free up some room in her garage.

Also standard equipment on 2003-2004 Mercury Marauder.

So if I try to re-sell these, would a Marauder owner want them?

Probably not due to the center cap issue.

    Are the Mustang wheels forged?

I already have two sets. One with my summer tires and one with my winter tires, so I'd be wanting to re-sell these.

I suppose I could bring a Marauder center cap with to see how it fits. And also check for the Ford part number on the back side of the wheel to ensure they are truly a Ford wheel and not an after market wheel.

It was on the V6 45th anniversary car IIRC.

And yes, they are genuine Ford parts with a Ford part number. Same width, diameter, backspacing. Just the center cap difference. If all 4 were put on a car the center cap fit would probably never be noticed. Unless it was parked next to another MM with the "correct" wheels.

Wonder if the Mustang wheels were as ridiculously priced as the Marauders?

If they are about or under 100 per wheel and they are as nice as the one in the photo, it's worth picking them up.

I just found the ad, at that price you could flip them and make 200 easy. Better go get them.

American muscle and a few other companies sell generic chrome center caps for mustang wheels, that fit flush. Simple solution.
