    Is this a Belt Slip

Hi guys it's been a while and I'm working on the eaton swap like snail I know lol but I finally I crank it today and everything went well at first but the eaton belt kinda want to slip out of the tensioner and i don't know the reason for that!!? I always hear about belt slipping but never see one in front of me or actually know how that's happen!!! So i took a pic and I want to know if this is it!!? I'll try to put it here !!! What do i need to do to stop it from slipping !!!?

And also about the accelerator bracket I lost my oem one i want to ask if a crown vic or marquis can be the same!!!? I know i have to mod it to L shape but does the marauder have a different bracket!!!?

Thank you guys for letting me going to this step and I never imagine that one day i could do it but with your big help and only with the help of this awesome forum I finally did it thanks guys really I'm grateful.

Sounds like your problem isn't belt slip but belt alignment. The belt slip your mentioning is from when the belt starts to slip on the s/c pulley and you loose power because it's not tensioned properly. Check the belt alignmentment.

That's what I thoughts first !! But what do you mean by alignment!!!? The lower and upper pulleys fit in the right place !! Its on the upper and to the lower just in the grooves but the tensioner pulley is not line up with the belt !!!!?

About the tune marty, Still I didn't tune I maybe going to JPS or dyno101 if you may know these guys, They are the best locally

    Any thoughts gentlemen !!!!?

Marty will gladly hook you up with a tune, my car is at his shop at the moment and is highly recommended by numerous members here. As far as the belt alignment all it takes is a few mm and belt will travel in which ever direction the belt is off even if it looks perfect to the naked eye. All I can suggest if your not that mechanically inclined is to get a buddy that can tell the difference or get a degree at
Youtube University and watch a video and try and get a visual of belt alignment.

do you have a pic of it to post? maybe you havbe incorrect spacers on the tensioner bracket..sticking out to far or not far enough so it is not holding the belt with full width of pulley, or maybe belt too long?

I just dealt with this too. It's because the pulley specified in the eaton swap thread was superseded by a revised part that will not work for this application. Jerry knows exactly what I am talking about. I suspect this is your problem, as your picture looks exactly how mine did the first time around. I need to go to work, but I can post more details later.

You either have the wrong bracket or the wrong tensioner. From the picture it looks like you possibly have a tensioner bracket from a trilogy. You need 1/2" spacers (approx 13mm) behind the tensioner stands or between the bracket and tensioner.

    Good luck

Either this like I suspected or the pulley itself is on backwards (some are not reversible) or has spacer washers on it. or event the tensioner arm is wrong.
