suddenly running like CRAP and running is an overstatement.... Cam sensor?

    2003 Marauder, 165k mi
I bought it from the original owner, with 100k on the clock, dealership maintained with papers.
Ive been great with maintenance too.
Trans rebuilt with jmod and spring removal ~150k
New plugs and MSD coils ~160k

It was running fine, been running errands the whole day. As I was coming up on my exit it tossed out a CEL and started shaking...
As I came to a stop it stalled, I was able to start it and limp it home.... running like **** it felt much like it was running on 4, but not as smooth. it coughed and shook a LOT

    I got the codes a P0340 and pending P1336

Ordered a new cam sensor... No change with the new sensor installed.

    Anything else to look for?

I heard there can be chaffing problems, but everything I've seen looks fine. all the connectors appear good.

Crank position sensors are more prone to fail on these than a cam sensor. I’d start there. Worst case you’ve jumped time.

Broken cam gear? It’ll make it run on 4 cylinders for sure.

    helpful, thanks!

I know my cam chains have a bit of rattle at startup, but it seems unlikley to jump time as im cruising on the freeway (like during the moment it started)
-If it were to jumps I'd expect it to happen during startup after sitting or while doing something stupid. burnouts racing ETC

funny, recently it was acting like it had a bad cat... upon inspection I found the driver side valve cover to intake breather to be loose... got a new elbow and checked the other lines.
The passenger to intake breather is about time for replacement, but wouldn't do this.

I dont think broken, despite the coughing and missing it sounds like its rotating OK.... if it has anything to do with timing Id say it hopped a tooth, but it doesnt sound like that happened.

checked the whole intake bath, everything is tight.

it will not idle on its own, I can give it a little gas to help iot stay running, but it really doesn't want to.
