Often the Marauder does get referred to as a 'sleeper'....but it is the opposite.
A sleeper is a plain Jane car that hauls azz!
A Marauder is dressed out as a performance car, but can barely pull a 14 sec. 1/4 mile.
That's why so many members here have modded their Marauders....so that the car's performance fits the flashy rims, gauges and exhaust!

An '87 Buick GN is like the Marauder....Black paint, nice rims...etc.....only a lot quicker!
But you knew that it was different and that it was a 'performance' model.
    The '87 Buick T-Type is a sleeper.

I mean to most people, it still looks like a cop car, so in that sense the title WOULD apply if it could even outrun a v6 accord from the day.

You hear mine venting to atmosphere over two blocks away. Then you hear the exhaust for another half mile. Definitely NOT a sleeper! LOL

The days of sneaky attacks are quite done.

Hemmings Classic Car recently had a column in the March 2019 issue called 'Four Door Hot Rods' with a SB pic and was hailing them along with the '94-'96 Impala SS.

Kinda neat to see it get some press, although they compared both cars to the '57 Rambler Rebel as a four door 'sleeper' of it's day, which seemed a bit odd.

    Except - it's a Rambler.

The earlier Hemi equipped DeSoto or Chrysler four doors would have seemed a better comparison.
