Radiator shield fender rivets - good part number

The plastic shield on top of the radiator is held in place by three fender rivets/clips. These are push in and have a twist top to unthread the rivet for removal. Two of my rivets broke so I went looking for replacements. All the online Ford part sites I checked listed this Ford part number for the rivets: W706519-S300. I found some online and ordered them. Unfortunately I did not check the dimensions first. The parts arrived and they were too small. They fit a 7mm hole. The Marauder has a 9mm hole for these rivets.

I dug around and found another rivet that fits a 9mm hole: W705957-S300.

I called my local Ford dealer. The parts counter confirmed that W705957-S300 is an obsolete number and was replaced with W706519-S300, even though W706519-S300 is too small.

I searched and found W705957-S300 online. The description stated it fits a 9mm hole. I purchased a few and they are the same size as the original fender rivets on the Marauder.

I have attached a picture of both rivets. The bottom left is W705957-S300. The top right is W706519-S300.

    FTR (For The Record) ...

too small or not, the original, OEM part # is W706519-S300.

And according to FoMoCo and TASCAPARTS are still available.

BTW ... They were always a little loose.

I had just bought some recently. My radiator shield went missing while being serviced at the stealership. I bought the replacement shield from a salvage car at a yard on ebay. Anyway, for those retainers, the Ford parts guy first told me they were discontinued. But then he said, wait, he would check his warehouse. And the warehouse had some so he ordered them and they came in a few days. Just like the originals and fit perfectly. I'll have to go check the part number.
