    Head Advice for a Rookie

I was gifted an aluminum 4.6 block punched .20 over that needs to be honed and built into something fun. I also have a set of 4V heads I scored off of an '05 Aviator for pretty damn cheap. I am debating on a few routes here but with the age of these cars I know there are very few paths that have not been walked before. This is more of a "over the next five years as I have time and money" kind of build. I love the way my car performs and it is a cruiser for me so this build isn't coming to fruition soon.

My question is for a boosted application is it worth it to work the heads and get new cams? The heads on my car now have port work, oversized valves and aftermarket cams but based on the feedback from the previous owner it seems that the bang for the buck factor isn't really there. Does that logic hold true on a supercharged car? I am not looking to make crazy numbers, maybe 500 to 550hp, just something fun and surprising to the occasional stoplight challenger.

Stock heads flow pretty good as they are. There are Marauders running 600+ HP with stock heads.

I'd say if you have the money to spend while it's down, do it. You won't be wondering later how much HP you could have made...

Not at this point. You should be able to score some locally though. I spent about 2 weeks on craigslist and paid next to nothing for them.
