Long Distance Marauder Ressurrection

This past March, my friend was driving to his lake house in Wisconsin and saw a Marauder sitting in a field on the side of the highway. He immediately called me and asked me if I'd like to get "back in the game"...of course I said YES! She had been sitting in a field for over a year and needed someone to love her. 90K on the clock and she is pretty much all stock. We picked her up for $3000 which wasn't bad because the engine was toast!

My friend drove up and picked her up and shoved her into a storage unit until we could get a plan together. She ran but sounded like there were wrenches clanking under her valve covers! Ha! Also...missing foglight....

As if by the very providence of God, Chris Curless offered up a used Marauder motor for sale! A deal was struck and my friend and I picked up the car and towed her from Green Bay to Grand Rapids! New engine here we come! The trip was not short...but was cool...people were staring and giving us thumbs up on the car on the trailer. Pretty dang cool!

Once we got to Curless' shop, I was amazed at the number of Marauders this man possessed and has built! As he and I talked, I found Chris to be a man of passion and integrity. I wanted more for this car and I felt like Chris did too! Here are some more pics of the interior and exterior under the sunlight at Cureless Auto Repair.

The previous owner was no jerk, but must've had no idea about the Marauders many quibbles. She needed new axles, 4.10 gears, rebuilt with cobra clutches and a T/A girdle cover:

Now it was time for traction. I love the quality work that Weldcraft produces. Those welds look so perfect!

The original owner put coil springs on, but I asked Chris put the air bags back in. He had to source the parts, but got her done!
