    What to do...

So, my windshield has had a crack in it (from the upper corner on pass side to the middle of windshield) for over 2 years now. My ins deductible is $500, so haven't bothered with filing a claim. I recently did a search to price having the glass replaced and have been quoted prices around $200. I find this a little hard to believe, so I have a few ?s...

The windshield is a Marauder-specific part, yes? I've priced a few at around $150-160, which makes the $200 quotes questionable.

The Marauder windshields I have found are not local to me...is the windshield a hard to find item, or am I not looking in the right place?

Will I need to replace the seal also?

    Thanks for your help...

Carlite 1506GT is the OEM glass Ford used. It has a greenish tint. The proper black dot matrix trim around top etc. Had one installed for $242 a year ago. Go to carlite website to find shops that sell carlite glass.

Where have you EVER heard that the Marauder glass is Marauder specific? 2003 cars had the solar tint band at the top, 2004 cars didn't. AFAIK the solar tint band glass is the only glass available now, I just bought two Ford logo Carlite windshields two years ago, will be replacing the one in my 04 this weekend. The windshield frame and shape is the same as a 1998 - 2012 crown vic or 1998 - 2011 grand marquis.

200 dollars for a Carlite windshield installed is a good price, I paid more than that to have Safelite put a FYG windshield in the 03 after my nice Carlite windshield got destroyed by a rock coming home from work a couple of months ago.

Windsheild glass is covered by comp insurance. Comp ins. is cheap. I'd look into getting a quote for a $50. deductible. Bet it's only a few dollars more than a $500.

Generally speaking those who have Claims pay more than those who don't. You can ask your Insurance Agent what impact on filing a Claim may have on your Insurance Premiums.

My $0 comp was damn near the same price as $500. Of course they don’t mention it unless you ask.
