    Where can I get new 28 spline spider gears for our 8.8

    looked just about everywhere and cant seem to find 28 spline spider gears with trac lok for the 8.8. I bought some mustang gears but i guess the carriers are not the same even though its still an 8.8. this is the link for those https://lmr.com/item/LRS-4215A/86-04...ction-Lok-Will
    Can someone please point me in the right direction? and please explain why these don't fit?

    For some reason, marauders had their own spider gears. They are discontinued, possible options, swap entire rear end with a crown Vic p71 2003-2011 that has 3.55 gear ratio. Can also change yours to 31 spline and buy the needed parts, axles, . Info is in the other post you commented in. The poster never bought the Yukon stuff.

    Yukon gears will not work. The entire carrier has to be changed to mustang with mustang spider gears
    03 black 300A # 2827 stock setup 275,000 on car. 65,000 on engine from a 04. 03 engine died at 273,000 . Rear cat delete with magnaflow 11256 mufflers.

    Yeah I ran into the same issue about four years ago, Ford says the carrier is not serviceable. I had bought the spiders gears off a mustang first, but the S clip was to small. I had no option but to hit up the local junk yard. Was lucky enough to find a 2002 mustang gt which have the 28 spline carrier.

    Now is a good time to consider a 31 spline build.

    thank you everyone that replied. i bought some gears from https://parts.autonationfordwhitebea...bC12OC1nYXM%3D somone sent me a link and they should be here soon ill let you all know how it goes. i will be switching to 31 spline in the future i'm just not prepared to drop the whole dif right now and because of how wiped the old gears were there's so much metal i couldn't clear out without a complete rebuild and it does need one. for only 60,000 miles the car has that dif wore out fast. i bought it in 2012 with only 30,000 and it showed no signs of a bad dif so i really don't know why it failed so soon.

    Hopefully they send you marauder spider gears, the mustang ones do not fit...

    Are you guys saying to get the P71 rear geared 3.55 with 31 spline axles, but aren't those peg leg???
    then just find a mustang posi unit carrier and it all jives?

    P71 options were open diff or trakloc. So yes, a 06+ p71 could have 3.55 with trak loc and 31 spline..actually started mid year 05

    Let us know if the gears ordered work. I look high and low and could never locate a actual marauder set. Every parts house and dealer said they had marauder gears including Ford and they were all wrong. Ford even said after my return of the gears they sent that marauder gears were no longer available

    According to the Ford parts book the Marauder spider and axle gears were not serviced separately, you had to buy the differential case assembly which was part number 3R3Z-4026-AA (engineering number 3R3W-4026-AA). Of course you all know that the part has long been obsolete with no dealers showing any inventory in the USA. This was also used in SOME 2003-2006 Mercurys and 2004 -2005 Fords and was called 8.8" "High Torque" locker. The rear end tag for these would be V025F. I am unable to determine how common they were.
