    Wider Wheels

    Hi guys,

I've been looking for a wider set of wheels so I can run some wider stickier tires for just Auto Cross events.

What do you think of these wheels? The price is right. It shows they fit 2005 - 2009 Mustangs. Will they fit?

    https://www.americanmuscle.com/silve...-kit-0514.html

I want to run a 275/40-18 on the front and a 295/40-18 on the rear. Not worried about the look of the lower profile tires as they will only be used when I run an Auto Cross.

I would hope the quality would be good.

    Thanks,
    Curt

they should work ok, might need to run a little spacer out back depending on the tires. I have stock widened rims with 295 tripple 5 nittos and they hit my exhaust.

I personally do not know if I'd use American Muscle replica wheels for track wheels with track tires, considering the weight of our cars and the loads that wheels can see with grippy track tires, but I am sure people have used such wheels on S197's and S550's with no issues.

Thanks for the info. I've been trying to find a set of 2007-2009 Shelby GT500 wheels. They are 18 x 9.5 and I've seen pictures of members Marauders that run those wheels.

They shouldn't be too hard to find, I know you can get those wheels as replicas as well. They used to be real popular on CVN back in the day, I have a friend who runs them on his vic.

I found a set of 2007-2009 GT500 wheels. Picking them up tomorrow. Bringing my floor jack and my cordless impact and will mount up one side to make sure they don't rub.
