Literally hundreds of posts out there on this subject.

Depending on your preference, you can stay with OEM sizes and go with Coopers:

Otherwise, a lot of us are running 255/55/18 in the rear; numerous choices in that size:

    Nitto 420S
    Kuhmo
    Hankook
    General Grabber UHP

The key is to go with at least a V rating, and a stiff sidewall.

RS3-A...I've had them for 2 months now...I like them. Even though they are OEM size, they look a little bigger than the BFGs, especially the rears. The top dog at the shop I bought them from said it looks like I have slicks on the rear. Can't remember the exact amount, but I think I paid around $850 for everything (mount, balance, alignment).

265/50-18 is about .2 " smaller than the stock rear 245/55-18 which helps cause the speedometer will be almost exactly still spot on.
255/55-18 is about .5" larger than the stock rear 245/55-18. Your speedometer will be off by about 1 mph so when your speedo reads 60 you're actually traveling about 61 mph.

    I run 255/45-18 Front and 265/50-18 Rear.

    Hancook 295/45/18 Rear

    Fronts Hancook v12 245/45/18

I really like this combination. No wear showing after 10000 miles.
They cost less the the BFG's and last longer.
The rear wheels can slide a little on WOT till they hook up.

Go with Nitto NT555's not the 555R though! those are the race version. My nittos are great and look sick on our cars. Go with 265/50/18 in rear or wider if you can. It looks good.....

I went with 275/45/18s for the rear. Lots of barely used Z rated Continental and Pirelli tires available on Ebay in this size (OEM for Porsche Panamera, etc), scored a pair of Pirelli PZeros with 7/32s for $260 shipped. They're much wider and look much more aggressive, just a bit shorter though. I also went with 255/45/18s on the front, an OE size for some Benzes. They fit great and are about the same diameter as stock 235/50/18s while being wider.

Nittos @ $140 each in the stock size are a good deal too..

Just my .02, haven't had the nittos, but have the Coopers and LOVE them. The seem to wear pretty decent, grip well, do decent in rain, look awesome, and factory sizes (agree that they look meatier, especially on the rear for some reason).
