If you installed an exhaust system, what cat would you use?

I'm not talking about a feline...I mean, what catalytic converter would you install? Are they all the same? On my first Marauder (totaled several years ago), the exhaust builder did a custom job with magnaflow universal cats. Is that what y'all are doing now? What are you running with a set of SW headers? H-pipe or X-pipe?

    Thanks!

I’m just using the SW cats with the complete system. I’ve never liked the sound since day one however and will someday ditch the X pipe in favor of an H first, then perhaps even the mufflers if that doesn’t calm the raspiness. Obviously adding stainless V band clamps this time around.

Hey, you say the SW exhaust got bad rasp? I’ve been wondering from the ones I’ve heard on YouTube. On my blue car I had put a pro chamber on it and really liked the way it sounded. I thinking use the headers and not their exhaust system. I hate that raspy sound.

I chose no cats for my full SW exhaust. I’ve seen too many cats melt and eventually chunk out. I would have preferred to install cats to quiet down the overly loud exhaust, but didn’t want to take the risk. But if I was to put cats on, I would use the big Magnaflow universal ones. I was not happy with the SW header back exhaust sound. Ended up putting the factory tips back on and replacing the x-pipe with a Magnaflow x-pipe muffler.

You "feel" the difference because you want to "feel" the difference. Since you just spent money on the upgrade you "have" to feel the difference

I'm looking to eliminate the double pump process I have to follow right now to get the pedal hard

I'm going to get hate mail for this but, I would never install anything from Stainless Works again... Ever... Horrible company to deal with... I've tried using their exhaust on 4 different cars... All four had horrible fitment issues, multiple kits had to be sent to me, never any concern for the amount of time it took for us to "make" their product fit... Reminds me of AEROFORCE gauges...

Apparently they revised the catbacks a couple of years ago to fit better but yeah, the SW catback on my 03 didn't have the best fitment.

The x-pipe causes the raspy exhaust note.

I HATE it, not worth the few HP gain.

The exhaust music my MM makes is soooo sweet & mean sounding with the H-pipe, 3" all the way to the 4" tips (thanks Mo's & Red), Magnaflows and no cats.

    Love it!!!

    Can't wait till Loosville!!!

No hate from me just an AMEN!

I’ve installed a couple tree hundred of exhausts and made my own more than a few times and this “kit” was absolutely the worst fitting one to date..

Mostly trying to line up the X pipe. You shouldn’t have to tweak pipes with 2x4’s!

I know they tweaked the headers before my purchase 5-6 years ago and they fit with ease.

My Magnaflow Cats had the O2 sensor bungs on the inlet and outlet of the cats. I only needed on extension cable, otherwise the other three fit just fine.
