    Wheel stud dimensions (replacement needed)

Hey everyone. When I pulled all the wheels off the car about a week ago I horrifyingly realized that basically every single stud had metal hair on it. Cleaned them all up and cleaned the inside of all the lugs, but one of them was actually bent. Passenger side rear wheel to be specific. Just wondering if this part works? If not, what are the dimensions? https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...251/16140311-P

Not sure on the stud you have listed. I'm assuming you have an 04. 03 and back axleshafts were notorious for bearing journal wear. The problem was corrected for 04 but i've still seen worn out 04 axleshafts. Since you have to pull the shaft to replace the studs anyway, maybe save yourself the trouble and just get new axleshafts? The new shafts will have studs.
You "feel" the difference because you want to "feel" the difference. Since you just spent money on the upgrade you "have" to feel the difference

I'm looking to eliminate the double pump process I have to follow right now to get the pedal hard

I believe the thread and pitch are good, not sure on the rest.

Also I seem to recall using the ABS sensor hole to help the stud find its hole on like a 45 degree angle then rotate the axle and it should slip right in. Of course the parking brakes need to be removed as well.

    Bradin,

Just measured one on my parts car. It is 2.25 in total length, .610 knurl. The ones you have listed are a bit shorter but should work.

Thanks all. Real hard to find an exact replacement! Way harder than I’ve ever thought it could be lol. I thought you didn’t need to remove the axle and you could do what Mr justbob said? If I need to pull the axle I’m gonna leave the bent stud in haha.

oh wait I just realized you won’t even be able to tell it’s shorter unless the lugs are off. Guess I’ll go with that one, just waiting on confirmation on stud removal.

I knocked one out of the axle to measure for you but could not remove it even with the abs sensor out.Axle has to be removed. You may be able to sneak the shorter one in with the sensor removed just cut the old one shorter to get it out without removing the axle. Also depending on how crusty things are on your car the abs sensor may be a ***** to remove intact.

Damn! Well I really appreciate you going through all of that for my dimensions. The 92-03 (besides marauder) were so easy... guess I’m leaving the bent one in. And also I am definitely going to buy a chaser for all the other threads on the car now that I know they’re a pain to replace.
