I agree. Having a one year only (half of one year and half of another) engine in my 1963 Marauder I can see what's coming for us with the 4.6, only the 4.6 will be even worse because there are more unique parts on it than the 406. You can already see it starting with things like the cross-over tube.

Only factory 406 powered Marauder, and earliest built Marauder documented to still exist.

    True!
I was super excited that the Marauder was going to have a 4.6L all aluminum DOHC V8....back in late 2002.
After dumping TONS of money into it to make it go fast, then watching FORD introduce a Coyote that made over 100 more HP and 100 more Lb-Ft Torque*....I gave up.
It WAS a nice engine....15 years ago.

*Not to mention being much more robust along with better fuel economy than the 4.6L

The biggest factor is the age. In 18 years from now the new and improved engines will have people saying the same things about the coyote.

If you want to be very disappointed just go drive a 10 sec electric car. It will make you never want to drive a gasser again.

    Nahhhh!
I'm looking forward to hangin' on while bangin' gears in my restomod 363SBF Foxbody. Should be a high 10 sec ride.
Today's electric and dual clutch automatic cars take NO skill to drive and are BORING!
Punch it and point it = LAME.
Performance cars should have 3 pedals!!
Plus, after a few hard runs at the strip ya have to recharge a Tesla....lol

Correct on all. I like a drivers car. Even the new GT500 isn’t a drivers car anymore!

Yep, the 'almightly' GT500 has a rotary dial shifter!!....
My Fusion Sport has the same, lame, rotary dial for a shifter...and I HATE THE FRIGGIN' THING!!!!....
My wife's 2015 Focus (160 HP I4) has a REAL automatic shifter in the middle of the console....like it should be.
Rotary dial shifters belong on a Turdyota!

Seems to me there are plenty of 4.6 4V engines to develop a intake ,I would think

I’m willing to bet we could all make a list of intakes that they still produce that they sell very few of..

    Other platforms

Yes to the above. While I’ve been away a few years I see some stuff like Stainless headers have gone up a bit since the time I purchased the set on my car and it is getting pricy now for sure but an intake should not be that hard for them to develop. As you mentioned, lots of other 4.6 4 valve engines in other platforms

Agree with all of the above posts. That's rare! Do we have a step-by-step instruction manual to update our cars to current Coyote w/ 6 or 10 speed? I am ready for that change.

If you want to go fast, reliably, with good fuel economy....its the most logical way to go.
Dropping tons of money on a 4.6 4 speed auto is stupid....ask me how I know...
2018+ Gen 3 Coyote out of a wrecked Mustang GT is the ticket.
Problem is converting the OEM ECM/PCM for the required Copperhead ECM/PCM and making it all work together in a Panther chassis.
    Imagine 480 HP/420 TRQ ....N/A, stock ... along with a 10 speed auto turning 3.73s or 4.10s

Then add an Edelbrock blower kit for 700 HP....
