    Alternator

Hi guys so my alternator went out recently I found a temporary one from the junkyard from a Lincoln with the 32v engine as well but my battery light comes on after i start the car is there something wrong or do you guys know if i can't use that alternator. I had bought a agm duralast in April and when I took the battery to get charged while I installed the alt the guy at autozone said it had only received 20% charge only in 1 hr, so it had 32% when I picked it up it was at 52% so I just told him to replace it since I had warranty i didn't want it to fail later. Any help is appreciated oh and I also replaced the belt

The way it is regulated. It's not a quick explanation..Ford has 1G, 3G,4G,6G..etc.

There is a 4G with a conventional regulator, then there is the 4G on the Marauder with the PWM controlled regulator. They look the same but they work differently. One way to tell them apart is the color of the plastic connector on the regulator.

Right, if I had to guess I'd assume "off a lincoln" means he got the alternator off a continental and I'm sure those have the older regulator.
